    3. Mike, regarding message 8/8/99 from genbuff @wcc. According to information in my files, there was a John DeLoach born about 1758 and died about 1790 He was son of Michael Deloach (1732-1815) and Elizabeth Rochelle (1734-1800) and he married one named Lucy ? . They had two sons Named Michael DeLoach born about 1781 and William Benjamin DeLoach, born about 1783. I don't have any further information on the line. Charlie. Mike, incidentally I also note the inquiries about Hardy DeLoach. The 1790 census of Old Beaufort District, S.C. shows the following: David DeLoach, Jesse DeLoach, Michael DeLoach, William DeLoach, Hardy DeLoach Sr. and Hardy DeLoach jr. Descendants of William James Durrance 1 William James "William Williams Durrance II" Durrance b: 1804 in Tattnall County, Ga. d: March 08, 1841 in Lowndes County, Ga. .. +Luraney "Lauranie" De Loach b: 1807 in Tattnall Co, GA d: 1875 in Fargo, Clinch Co, GA m: February 12, 1824 in Tattnall County, Ga. Father: Abraham De Loach Mother: Elizabeth Rowe William James Durrence was born in Tattnall County in 1804, son of William Durrence and his wife Cynthia Tippins, and a grandson of William Durrence, R.S. He was married in Tattnall County Feb. 19, 1824, to Luraney DeLoach, born in 1807 in Georgia, a daughter of Abraham DeLoach. In the early 1830's, Mr. Durrence and his family moved to Lowndes County. He served as Justice of Peace, 658th district there, until his death, and was 1st lieutenant of the militia in the same district, from 1840 until his death. He died in Lowndes County, March 8th, 1841. He served as a private in 1836 under Capt. Hamilton W. Sharpe in the Indian War and again in 1838 under Capt. Levi J. Knight. Census 1840 Lowndes Co, DURRANCE, WM 5M, 5F Luraney De Loach In 1855, she, with her unmarried children and grandchildren moved from near Troupville in Lowndes County where they had been residing, to Charlton County near the old Indian War fort known as Fort Moniac on the St. Marys River. While living there she applied on April 3, 1855, for bounty land for her husband's Indian War service, and it was approved and she was granted 160 acres by the U.S. Government, Sept. 24,1856. She died there about 1875-80. Said to have had two more children after the death of William, but I believe that the children belong to daughter Ann E and are confussed by the fact that Ann never left the household of Lourania. In 1855 moved household to Charlton Co near inlaws and Daughter Mary, in Traders Hill 1860 census next door to Susannah Thomas. (After the civil war and before 1870 she moved with several of her family to Clinch county and settled in the present Fargo district near or on the Suwannee River. sc Huxford) Need additional research, may be buried in Baker Co, FL. 3. Dear Mike, Congratulations to Brenda Young for surveying and recording the rest of the graves in the DeLoach Family Cemetery near Estill, SC. That is a task that I intended getting back to some day. Incidentally this cemetery is located on lands which were part of my Grandfather Michael DeLoach (2/3/1864-8/31/1945) and my Grandmother Catherine Hadwin DeLoach (1/20/1866-5/5/1950) Estate. All of their children are buried in thie cemetery except the youngest son, Robert Lee DeLoach (7/7/1905) - ?) who is buried in Coosawatchie, S.C. along with his wife Hattie DeLoach. My Uncle "Robbie Lee" willed to me a gold watch which was presented to him by Ford Motor Co. for top honors as a salesman and dealer in Coosawatchie, S.C. about 50 years ago. Mike, I will go through my files for other documentation that may be of interest. I do have a Coat of Arms which Joseph Steadman sent to my Dad, Ben Tillman DeLoach, many years ago and also a few census records from the Old Beaufort County (from which Hampton County was carved in the 1870"s) S.C. 3. Hi Everyone, Back in May, Jean DeLoach Myrick Gober sent me a cemetery survey that she had been working on for some time. She initially called it the New DeLoach Cemetery, but after considering the other DeLoach Cemetery about a mile away, decided that this was the Old DeLoach Cemetery. I filed the information to take care of later, and promptly misplaced it. I found it earlier tonight. Last month, Harriet Waters sent us a survey entitled DeLoach's (New Church) Cemetery. I compared it with what Jean has sent earlier, and they are for the same cemetery. Jean's list includes most of the deceased buried there, and she has annotated it with family connections where possible. So, I have replaced the file that Harriet sent with Jean's. If all of that is confusing, just remember that it is the same cemetery, and the old name was New Church and the new name is Old DeLoach..... Rats, take a look at: http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~javan/desloges/records/cemeteries/oldelocm.htm Mike

    3. Hi Everyone, Most you have probably visited the DeLoach Resource Center on RootsWeb at URL: http://resources.rootsweb.com/surnames/d/e/DELOACH/ A new feature was added last week called RootsLink. This will let you add your Web page that contains DeLoach information to the Resource Center. Carline Doyle has already added her site. If you have a Web page and would like for it to be listed, look for the RootsLink form about half-way down the page. Mike

    3. Hi Everyone, Brenda DeLoach Young has contributed another cemetery survey from Hampton County, South Carolina. She says that she is probably kin to everyone buried there. A look at the number of Tutens, Gohagens and DeLoaches buried there makes that seem possible. So, I have posted the entire cemetery survey on the DesLoges Homepage: http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~javan/desloges/records/cemeteries/stpbtmbc.htm The file has also been sent to the SC USGenWeb Archives. Take care. Mike

The DeLoach Family Cemtery survey that was mentioned yesterday is now on-line: ftp://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/sc/hampton/cemeteries/deloach.txt and at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~cemetery/s-car.html There were DeLoach families in Hampton County for many years. Doesn't someone have some documents related to these families that they would like to share with other DeLoach researchers? Mike

    3. Hi Everyone, Brenda Young recently visited Hampton County, South Carolina, and surveyed the entire DeLoach Family Cemetery in Estill. Charlie DeLoach had previously provided us a partial inventory of that cemetery. With Brenda's permission, I have sent the entire survey to the South Carolina USGenWeb Archives and to the South Carolina Tombstone Transcription Registry. An announcement will be made when these are on-line. The DeLoach tombstone inscriptions that were not in Charlie's partial list have been placed on the DesLoges Homepage at URL: http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~javan/desloges/records/cemeteries/nixvlcem2.htm Thanks Brenda, for all of the hard work. Mike
