    1. [DELOACH-L] New RootsWeb GEDCOM Service
    2. Javan Michael DeLoach
    3. Hi Everybody, RootsWeb has launched a new service for displaying your family genealogy. The service is presently in Beta testing. I have uploaded a current copy of the DesLoges GEDCOM, and I am very impressed with the results. To view the DesLoges data base, go to: http://worldconnect.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=javan Use the search feature to find a particular name. In addition to having the normal genealogical data available, you can also have descendancy charts and pedigree charts made for any person. You can download all or a portion of the GEDCOM. The best feature is the instant update of the files. On the current system that I use, you have to make a Web page for each family, then upload all 1239 of them. On the RootsWeb system, all you need to do is upload a current GEDCOM. This is a tremendous time and work saver. I would appreciate comments from anyone who visits the site, especially comparisons with what we have on-line now. If you should want to establish your own site, the URL is: http://worldconnect.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igmuser.cgi Take care. Mike

    1. [DELOACH-L] DeLoach/Holland Change
    2. Javan Michael DeLoach
    3. Hi Everyone, Wanda Tracy has pointed out an error in the DesLoges data base and Web page. In family 734, James A. Holland and Miriam Frances DeLoach, Miriam is shown as a male and the father of the family. This made all of the children have the DeLoach surname instead of Holland. This has been corrected on the Web page and in the data base. Mike

    3. Just sticking in my two cents worth about the name Mifsouri. In the old days it was correct to change a "s" to "f" when two "s's" were written together. Another example would be the name "Mississippi" which would have been written "Mifsifsippi". Hope this will be helpful to you. 3. The other newspaper article in the John R. DeLoach Bible. IN LOVING TRIBUTE You did not say good-bye when we parted, You knew that we would meet again; You left me dear, broken-hearted, And life will never be the same. Oh, this world seems so lonely, so silent and still. You have left a vacancy, Val, Which never, never, can be filled; I looked upon you-so peaceful in your casket- I wanted to be there with you, yet I could not ask it, But, Val, this was true. Just you and I, dear, Were so happy and free; We loved each other so dearly, Just you and me. You don't know how I miss you, Life can never be the same; Oh, this lonely, dreary waking, Fills my heart with aching pain. Oh, can it be that you have left me, Yes, oh yes, I know it is true; I do not hear you calling, Calling as you used to do. You were so good, so true, so faithful, I do not know what to do' I need you here to tell me, But God needs you, too! It has been such a short while since you left me, Just a year ago; It seems years and years, Val, How can I live it through. God will keep you, darling, In his beautiful throne; Till we two are re-united, And known as we are known. -MRS. VAL GARRETT. ___________________________________________________________________ Get the Internet just the way you want it. Free software, free e-mail, and free Internet access for a month! 1. [DELOACH-L] articles by S. J. MEADOWS
    2. T C
    3. Still haven't determined if the Bible was that of John R. DeLoach, or of his son William Whitfield DeLoach. Details from the Bible records will be sent in a few days. There were three newspaper articles (unknown which newspaper) in amongst the pages of the Bible, two by S. J. MEADOWS. Those two articles are below. Later, Tim Carter surchin@juno.com P.O. Box 724 surchin@geotec.net Broken Arrow, OK 74013 (918) 451-4520 Mrs. Isabella E. DeLoach, nee Harris, was born in Troup county, Georgia, in the year 1834. She came with her parents to Claiborne parish, La., in 1853. She was married to Wm. W. DeLoach in 1859, and she and her husband were baptized by Eld. Wise and received into the fellowship of Cold Springs church in 1867. She was a faithful and loving wife, a kind and affectionate mother and a consistant Christian. She was modest, and timid, and her influence for good was felt most in her home. She was the mother of Rev. M. W. DeLoach, late of Louisiana, but now of Magazine, Ark. She was stricken speechless and helpless in the early afternoon of August 10th, and died without a struggle about eight hours thereafter. She leaves an aged husband and several children, besides many friends to mourn their loss. * S. J. MEADOWS ------------ IN MEMORIAM. Sister Irene DeLoach Warren was the daughter of Brother and Sister S. W. DeLoach. She was born June 21, 1877 and died after a brief illness at the home of her parents in Claiborne parish, Oct. 24, 1902. She was baptized into the fellowship of the New Friendship Baptist church in Claiborne parish 1900 by Rev. C. B. Hollis, and was married to Mr. Richard L. Warren, Dec. 26, 1901. She spent one year in Belton College, Tex., but circumstances prevented her from obtaining that complete education which she so much desired. She was naturally timid, and reserved and none, except a few intimate friends, will ever know how she hungered for a deeper knowledge of science and truth in order that her life might be a blessing to humanity and an honor to God. But we feel sure from the evidences which she left, that she is now where "she knows as she is known" and where her hungry soul is filled to its utmost capacity with "that knowledge that passeth our understanding." In all the relations of life; as christian, wife, daughter, sister and friend she was true and faithful. Besides relatives and friends she left a devoted and griefstricken husband and an infant only a few hours old, to all of whom we commend the promises of a loving Father to those who trust Him. * S.J.
