    1. [DELOACH-L] WILLIAM FLOYD DELOACH
    2. Wanda R Tracy
    3. Grandma Becky's (Rebecca Ora ) brother William Floyd "Bill" DELOACH was born September 1, 1873 in Freestone County Texas and died October 1961 in Berta, Arkansas. Bill was a son of Floyd W. DeLoach & Roxey Ann KILBORN. He married Irene SPENCER June 11, 1911 in Nimrod, Texas. Irene was born February 14, 1887 and died November 1967 and buried in Berta, Arkansas. Aunt Irene, I am told, was a red head. Bill & Irene had a son and a daughter who both live in Arkansas. Neither have children, so my branch of the DeLoach Tree will soon die out for lack of DeLoach male offspring to carry the DeLoach surname...Grandma's older brother had four sons, however I have no knowledge that any of them had sons. 1. Re: [DELOACH-L] DELOACH-- LOUISIANA and TEXAS
    2. Wanda R Tracy
    3. Susie and others, Floyd Washington DeLoach moved to Texas around Dec 1862 as his third son, John Thomas DeLoach was said to have been born in a oxcart while on the way to Texas from Louisiana and he was born Dec 1862. John died unmarried, I am told, in 1946, believed in Brownfield, Texas, near Lubbock. Floyd's second child Charley Augustus DdeLoach was born June 30, 1861 in Ark.., I am told He died in 1900, maybe in Arizona, not sure. He had 6 daughters & 4 sons.. Floyd's first child Edward W. (Wilson--my mother said) was born Feb 3, 1859 and he died in Freestone county Aug. 5, 1881 according to the Freestone County History. After John, there was a daughter, Buna Vista, unknown date, probably Freestone Co. TX , died Aug. 22, 1922 in McKinley TX Hospital, however I think she lived in Abilene, TX. She had a son Bee Hamilton, by first marriage, and Gorda Kennedy by her second marriage. Next was William Floyd DeLoach, born Sept 1, 1873, Freestone County, TX died Jul. 27, 1892 Oct 1961 in Berta Ark.. He had a son & daughter and neither had any children. Both may still be living and in Ark. Next was my grandmother Rebecca Ora DeLoach, b. April 2, 1873 in Mexia, Freestone Co. died Nov. 18, 1956 Hobbs, Lea county, New Mexico. She married William D. Owen and had 10 children, my mother the 5th child. Last child was L. Barton DeLoach. b. Aug. 6, 1877 Freestone County, died Jul 27, 1892, Freestone Co. Floyd Washington, born August 22, 1835, Crawford Co. Ga, died May 6, 1926, Yuma Arizona, buried in Neinda Cemetery, Jones Co TX. He married Roxey Ann Kilborn , who was born Nov. 10, 1836 and died Nov. 21, 1910 , buried in Neinda Cemetery, Jones Co. I do not have their date of marriage nor where, but possibly La. Roxey's people came from England-CT, some went to Mass, some Miss, so they may have married in MS, but I have no knowledge of Floyd being in MS. So ANY help on the missing pieces would be greatly appreciated. Freestone now has a Mail List and hopefully thru this list I may find a connection. It was sewn by the wife of Capt. Hulum D. E. "Raz" Redwine of Company E. A Confederate First National (Stars and Bars) flag, it has a large white star embroidered "Texas" in red in the center of the canton, surrounded by smaller white stars similarly labeled for Virginia, Tennessee, South Carolina, Georgia, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, North Carolina, and Arkansas. Red stars in the canton's four corners are embroidered Chicasaw, Choctaw, Creek, and Cherokee in white for the Indian nations. The legend "Strike for Your Alters & Your Homes" is embroidered in red on the flag's central white stripe. There is also a Company E flag made by Mrs. Redwine in the museum. It is a more conventional First National with "We Strike for Liberty" and the company name ("Bully Rocks") embroidered in red on the white stripe. If you would like to get in contact with the Museum here is the address: The Texas Military ForcesMuseum, P. O. Box 5218, Austin, Texas 78763-5218. Color illustrations of both flags appear on pages 26 and 27 of BATTLE FLAGS OF TEXAS IN THE CONFEDERACY by Alan K. Sumrall (Austin, Texas: Eakin Press, 1995). - ----------------------------------------------------------
