    3. I am seeking information on the derivation and/or historical significance of the name "Delaplane Manor." Delaplane Manor is a small town, borough, or subdivision (I have been unable to determine which) in Delaware near Newark. It is located almost exactly halfway between Newark and Stanton, about 3 mi east of and about 1 mi north of Newark. I am the editor of a 600-page book titled "The Delaplaines of America" by Marvin G. Delaplane (of Dayton, OH). I would like to include something on the significance (or lack thereof) of Delaplane Manor to the Delaplanes who once lived in Delaware. A request for such information sent to the Delaware Historical Society went unanswered. Perhaps someone on this mailing list knows something about this place? G.
