Gail: During my research of Sussex Co., I have come across the surname of grinnage, sometimes spelled greenage. There are also grinnage/greenage families in Kent County; in addition to these families residing in the surrounding Maryland counties. I provide this to you as Green could have been shorted from Greenage. Good luck to you.
