Hello: I am brand new to your list but not to lists. I have on a 1900 & 1910 US census a man and his wife. (nothing strange there) The husband age 26 & 36 states that his Mother who I happen to have only a name for: Mary Jane Green Was born in Delaware So this would make Mary Jane Green's son born in 1874 and if you subtract about 20 years give or take that means I am looking for a girl who would have been born in Delawere sometime between 1850-1860 give or take a bit. Now I happen to know already that Vital records were not require then. In Delaware that is. But what I would like to know at this point.........where is the largest population of people by the surname of Green during this time span in Delaware? Then if we were to match that to the surname Butler what is the most likley spot that I should check records for? You see she first had married a man named Butler and had one child by him who she named Perry Butler................she could have named him for the Father as far as we know at this point. By 1873 she is again married but this time to a Joseph Wesley Randall, living in Wood Co. Ohio and has a son by this man named John born in 1873. The Randall family had more children also: Mary who married a Homer Neiswander Viola Mattie Perry was always the eldest child of this family. Any suggestions for finding her family back in Delaware? Thanks, Gail
