Hi everyone! I need some help with the year 1883 in the state of Delaware. My great grandparents John and Fannie McCann emigrated to the United States sometime after April of 1882. I believe they probably arrived in Philadelphia. In July of 1883, their son James was born in Delaware. Fannie's brother James Finegan emigrated in 1881 and set up house in the Christiana Park area (before it was Christiana Park). They lived in the rear of a small house. John and Fannie probably lived nearby. What I would like to know is if there was a city directory that might tell me an address for them. Also, how easy is it to get a birth certificate from 1883 and would it tell me much for genealogy purposes? Thanks for the time to listen! Sandy
