    3. Can anyone help me locate family information for Brinkley JOHNSON who left Sussex County in the 1830's for Illinois? There were several Sussex County families who made this move at about this same time. He named his sons Bartholomew and McKinsey. Are these family names? At the time of the 1820 census for Sussex County there were three different Brinkley's living in different hundreds, Indian River, Northwest Fork and Nanticoke. I have been unable to find family for any of them. Any suggestions? 3. Connie There is a Bartholomew Johnson listed on the reconstructed 1790 DE census in Dagsboro Hnd. Also found will of Bartholomew Johnson Sr, farmer dated 14 oct 1786 listing wife Sarah, sons: John, Jacob, Benjamin, Jonathan, Bartholomew. daus: Lydia Spicer, Comfort Connaway, Betty Adams. This may give you some leads since names tend to recur in the same family line. Who are the other families who traveled west with Brinkley Johnson? I have a Dale family from Baltimore Hnd that moved west between 1830 and 1840 who settled in Knox Co, Indiana. They settled near Levin Clark also of Sussex Co, DE. > Can anyone help me locate family information for Brinkley JOHNSON who left > Sussex County in the 1830's for Illinois?
