    3. Howdy, I was at the Del. State Archives today, and had a chance to look in the census indices for you. My experience with them told me to look at any other first letter which the maker of the indices could misinterpret from a cursive K. I looked at H, with no finds; I now think R is another possiblilty, but didn't look there. In the 1810, the only one in the whole state, all spellings, is Christian Keys, p. 178, New Castle Hundred, New Castle County. In 1820, James Keyes, p. 19, Murderkill Hd., Kent Co. In 1830, William Keyes, p. 227, town of Smyrna, Duck Creek Hd., Kent Co. If it is of interest, I happen to know that at Clayton, Del., a short distance west of Smyrna, starting in the 1890's, Walter Keys operated a pharmacy called R. Keys & Co. I don't know how much research can be done on line, since I do my work by going to the Archives, abt. 5 min. from where I live. If you want the name of a paid researcher, I can give you one. Good hunting. Dave Bryan ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! Juno offers FREE or PREMIUM Internet access for less! Join Juno today!
