June, why don't you talk to the realtors or owner of the house and see if you can't get a quick tour. They might even like finding out abt the history. One of my brothers visited my grandparents home in Portland OR a few years ago. My grandparents died in abt 1960. The owners were very interested to know my Danish carpenter grandfather had built the house himself in the 1940's. You have much more history. Very politely check. Let us know if you do.
