How great it must have been to go through the old trunk, Suny!!! My ancestors were from Smyrna, DE and the house still stands at 123 W. Commerce St. I believe it is a Funeral Home now. I went to Smyrna about 15 years ago and took some pictures of it. I found an old picture of it at American Memory Site by typing in Benjamin Benson. It is under HABS for Delaware. It was completed in 1831. How I would love to see the inside. I speak with Mr George Caley, who is a genealogist in Smyrna often and plan a trip there in the Spring. When I was there 15 years ago, I also took pictures at the Asbury ME Church yard, where I found my GG grandparents Benjamin Benson and Maria Shewell Benson's tomb stones.
