    3. Connie There is a Bartholomew Johnson listed on the reconstructed 1790 DE census in Dagsboro Hnd. Also found will of Bartholomew Johnson Sr, farmer dated 14 oct 1786 listing wife Sarah, sons: John, Jacob, Benjamin, Jonathan, Bartholomew. daus: Lydia Spicer, Comfort Connaway, Betty Adams. This may give you some leads since names tend to recur in the same family line. Who are the other families who traveled west with Brinkley Johnson? I have a Dale family from Baltimore Hnd that moved west between 1830 and 1840 who settled in Knox Co, Indiana. They settled near Levin Clark also of Sussex Co, DE. > Can anyone help me locate family information for Brinkley JOHNSON who left > Sussex County in the 1830's for Illinois? There were several Sussex County families who made this move at about this same time. He named his sons Bartholomew and McKinsey. Are these family names? At the time of the 1820 census for Sussex County there were three different Brinkley's living in different hundreds, Indian River, Northwest Fork and Nanticoke. 3. Hello - I'm researching the family of Walter Thetford, and find his name is listed in Delaware Genealogical Society Journal Index, at Vol. 7, No. 4, Oct. 1994, page 93. I'm aware that I can order the referenced quarterly from the Delaware Genealogical Society, but before doing so wonder if anyone has Volume 7, and would be willing to describe the item about Walter Thetford. My Walter lived during the first half of the 18th century, dying in 1767. Any related information would be very much appreciated. Tom Davis

    3. Margaret Ann Glendon was from Ireland. she married an Aaron and then an (Indian Farmer) named Issac Foreacres. They had 5 children, Martha, Rebecca, Robert, Hanna and Issac. Martha is the only one that lived to be grown. Issac was 21 when they were married in 1823 in Dover, so he was born about 1802. Margaret married a Petersen in 1843, a Dill in 1852. Margaret died between 1860-70 and was born in 1805. This info was handed down to me and I need some proof as to it's authenticity. I do know we have Indian blood as I have a picture of our Indian GGGGrandmother. Could find nothing in the Dawes records. 2. Everett D Bryan
    3. Hi again, I forgot to add something I can look in here at home, and just did--the index to Scharf's History of Delaware (1888) has three Keys refs. 1. Gen. E. D. Keys led the Fourth Regiment Del. Infantry (Civil War) from May 1863, when it came out of winter quarters and made a feint toward Richmond. I don't see his name elsewhere on the page (p. 370). Detailed history of the Del. Regiments has been done, because of research done before the recent placing of a Del. monument at Gettysburg. It's possible that Gen. Keys was not a Delawarean, but that this Reg. served under him. 2. John F. Keys of Wilmington, New Castle Co., was a member of the Vestry of The Reformed Episcopal Church of the Redeemer (8th & Monroe Sts., Wilm.) as of 1888 (p. 710). 3. From a mixed list of taxpayers of Duck Creek and Little Creek Hds., Kent Co., 1785, Richard Keys (p. 1125). 2. Everett D Bryan
    3. Howdy, I was at the Del. State Archives today, and had a chance to look in the census indices for you. My experience with them told me to look at any other first letter which the maker of the indices could misinterpret from a cursive K. I looked at H, with no finds; I now think R is another possiblilty, but didn't look there. In the 1810, the only one in the whole state, all spellings, is Christian Keys, p. 178, New Castle Hundred, New Castle County. In 1820, James Keyes, p. 19, Murderkill Hd., Kent Co. In 1830, William Keyes, p. 227, town of Smyrna, Duck Creek Hd., Kent Co. If it is of interest, I happen to know that at Clayton, Del., a short distance west of Smyrna, starting in the 1890's, Walter Keys operated a pharmacy called R. Keys & Co. I don't know how much research can be done on line, since I do my work by going to the Archives, abt. 5 min. from where I live. If you want the name of a paid researcher, I can give you one. Good hunting. Dave Bryan ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! Juno offers FREE or PREMIUM Internet access for less! Join Juno today!
