Jean, Are you still willing to do look-ups in your Kent County land books? If so, would you mind checking to see if you have anything on the Ward family who lived in Duck Creek as early as the late 1600s and probably at least through 1800. I found references to them in some wills and believe that a John Ward had children Susanna, George, John and Thomas. I'm not sure if the family moved or if the county lines changed but early family was shown in Duck Creek, Kent County and then later references say Appoquinimink Hd, New Castle County. I believe they may be related to the Wards of Cecil County and am just beginning to work on that. I am also descended from the Judge Isaac Davis family of Milford. Their ancestors moved from Worcester Co., MD to Sussex County DE and finally to Kent County, DE. Thanks for suggesting the books for land records. I will probably buy (at least) one from Willow Bend - they're a wonderful resource and close by for me! If one book looks like a good choice for me please advise me! If you need me to check anything for you in my Cecil County books, just ask!
