Pat, I can only assume that the burial location was that of an unmarked farm cemetery. I have a copy of the "Souls in Heaven, Names in Stone, Kent County, Delaware Cemetery Records", by the Dill, Dill, & Dill, published in 1989 and the name of Daniel Mason isn't listed. I actually live just north of Milford, DE, which is intersected by the Mispillion River and I am not familiar with the branches that are named here. I was I could have helped you out here. May you have a wonderful day! He was the son of the Quaker family of Isaac Mason b 1728 and Catherine. In it he speaks of building a wall around the family burial ground : Item seventh: "I hereby authorize and direct my executors to enclose the old family burying ground, on my farm called "Mason Farm" now in the tenure of Evan Morgan (all of the same ground which is now enclosed) with a substantial wall as follows; the wall to be of hard brick eighteen inches thick from the foundation up to one foot above ground; Then thirteen inches thick up to four feet above ground; Then the top to be capt with slab-stone; with a wrought iron gate and fixtures; all to be done out of good materials and in workman-like manner; And the expenses of the same to be paid out of my estate. My will and desire further is, that the said burying ground and walls directed to be built, with the privilege of free ingress and egress to and from the same shall be excepted and reserved out of the sales that may take place of my real estate." Would anyone be able to place this cemetery today? Masons lived in Mispillion Hundred in the old tracts called Saw Mill Range and Mount Pleasant. Mount Pleasant was between Beaver Dam Branch and Swan Creek, just on the north side of the Mispillion River. Any help appreciated. ==== DEKENT Mailing List ==== NOTICE: Posting of virus warnings, test messages, chain letters, political announcements, current events, items for sale, personal messages, flames, etc. (in other words - spam) is NOT ALLOWED and will be grounds for removal.
