Hi, Mark- Just found some cemetery records from Rush County, Indiana, which have created another conflict. I sent the following to the Billings list and the Kent Co. Delaware list: I have a William BILLINGS, born ca. Feb 1778 in Kent Co. Delaware. It has been recorded that he married Sarah COHEE, dau. of Benjamin and Nancy COHEE, ca. Jan 1803 in Kent Co. They had the following children: 1) Ann 2) Andrew (ca.1805 - ca.1885) 3) Clarrissa (1810-1910) 4) Elijah (b. ca.1815) 5) John 6) Eliza (died young) It is also recorded that William BILLINGS died at the home of his daughter Clarrissa in Rush Co. Indiana and is buried in the Little Blue River Cemetery in that county. Now the problem: The cemetery records for that cemetery indeed confirm that a William BILLINGS is buried there (died 10 Jan 1851, age 72 years 11 months). But buried next to him is Elizabeth BILLINGS "wife of William", died 22 Oct 1860, aged 80 years, 10 months, 22 days. Assuming for a moment that this is the correct William BILLINGS, what happened to Sarah COHEE? Did she die young? Is Elizabeth William's second wife? Anybody here got a clue?
