    1. Curtis Callaway / Calloway ...Saunders / Sanders
    2. Hi, In July 1806 court minutes of Rutherford Co TN show that Curtis Calloway ( of Kent Co Delaware) purchased 300 acres in Kent Co from James Sanders (wife Rebecca), Archelus Lee (wife Rebecca), James Sanders, Samuel Sanders and Philip Sanders (all of Rutherford Co TN ). My guess is that these are Sanders / Saunders siblings that inherited the land in Delaware from a relative. 1800 census, Kent Co Delaware shows these SAUNDERS who might be related?? William Saunders, Middle distr. p 241 (no white males/females, 3 "others", 2 slaves) Richard Saunders, Middle distr p 241 (no white males/females, 4 "others", 0 slaves) John Saunders, Middle distr p 241 (males: 2 under 10yrs, 2 26-45yrs, females: 2 10-16yrs, 1 16-26yrs, 1 26-45yrs, 1 "others, 1 slave) Ann Saunders, Middle distr. p 235 (no white males/females, 5 "others", 0 slaves) George Saunders, Middle distr. p 235 ( males: 1 under 10 yrs, 1 10-16yrs, 1 16-26yrs, females: 1 26-45yrs, 0 others, 1 slave) Casey/Basey? Saunders no twp, p 246 (Males: 1 under 10, females: 2 26-45yrs, 1 over 45yrs, no others, no slaves) There are 3 families above who are not labeled "white". I find that very interesting as family tradition says there is indian blood in our Sanders. On 1810 census Kent Co Delaware, Curtis Calloway is living in Mispillion Hundred. I don't know if he is living on the 300 acres he bought in 1806 from the Sanders, but was there a Mispillion hundred on 1800 census?? Would appreciate any info at all that would help me identify the above Sanders/Saunders. I am new to this list and may only stay on it for a short time. Please answer directly to me if you have found it by searching the archives. Thanks for your time! Solveig Berry
