    1. [DEKENT] Andrew Levi KNOTTS, b 1770, QA Co. MD, and Sara (TEMPLE?) GREEN, b ca 1750, probably QA or Kent co MD,
    2. Bob KNOTTS
    3. I'm looking for my gg-grandfather's family. He was b in QA co ,1770, and d QA co 1826. His wife was Elizabeth GREEN, b ca 1773, probably QA Caroline, or Kent co MD. They were m 1796. I remember seeing a listing for a Levi KNOTTS b ca 1746. Does anyone have any information on this person? I can't help but wonder if he's an uncle or some other relative to Andrew. Sara GREEN is listed as a TEMPLE by some other KNOTTS researchers. Andrew's first son was Thomas KNOTTS, so some researchers think a Thomas KNOTTS was Andrew's father. Andrew had three son's, and I believe two daughters. The sons were Thomas, b ca 1800, William (my g-grandfather),b 1805, and Joseph, b 1812. The daughters were Mary (I think b ca 1798), and the last I don't remember . All of the children were b in QA co. MD. Mary m a William TEMPLE (I think), but died young. I don't know who Thomas m. William first m Margaret M BARRATT, the granddaughter of Col Phillip BARRATT, who donated land for BARRATT's Chapel in D! E. In 1844 he m Sylvia D. WILSEY in Nauvoo, Hancock co IL. after Margaret d. Joseph m Mary Lee of the Dover area. Joseph settled in Christian Co IL, and William and Sylvia went to Oregon on the Oregon Trail in 1845-46, and settled in Benton Co Oregon abt 3 miles North of Corvallis. One of Joseph's sons, Joseph, moved to KS where he settled. I'd appreciate any help. Bob KNOTTS

    1. Re: [DEKENT] RICHARDSON of Townsend, DE
    2. There is an old, still operating Methodist church in nearby Middletown, DE. They have an old graveyard adjacent to the building. You might want to contact the church office to see if they have someone who can tell you who is in their graveyard. The area code (in case you would want to call information to get a phone number for the church) is 302. (My younger sister lives in Townsend now and they attend the Middletown Methodist Church.) Does anyone out there know how I might reestablish contact with him? Thanks, Karen Carter Sandy, UT

    2. Okay, a 1930 Census question: I've been going through the Kent County 1930 census on Ancestry.com and I can't find my father's family. 1. [DEKENT] First Quarterly Report for 2002
    2. Kathleen Burnett
    3. Dear List Members, The First Quarterly Report for 2002 is going to be just a little different than the one I usually send to the Mailing Lists I take care of. I tore my Rotator Cuff in November of last year and I find that I cannot spend long hours typing on the computer during the healing process, therefore I am going to send out one message to all of my lists and skip posting the membership numbers this time. I promise to get back to our normal reporting next quarter. Typing over 200 messages is just more than this shoulder and arm can take. There are a few items I would like to suggest for the benefit of each of us. 1. If someone posts a message to the list that should not have been posted, please just delete it. Know that I am taking care of the problem. If you post your unhappiness, then you just continue on the problem. I know it is hard when your heart has been offended, but for my sake, and the sake of the list, please just delete it. Rootsweb has a wonderful Spam Detective and it stops most of it. You should see what comes across my screen. I have to look at each of them to make sure that what was stopped was truly Spam. Once in a while, one slips by though and if this happens, just delete it and go on with what we all love, genealogical research. 2. If you would put the subject of your posting in the subject line it might give you a better chance to attract the attention of someone who has the information you are looking for or the attention of someone who is searching for the information you are posting. 3. Please remember to delete the tags and un-needed words when you re-send a message to the list with your answer. If you don't check this, your responses can become quite large and may cause problems with some of our member's servers. This member who might not be able to receive your message because of its size, just might be your long lost second cousin with all the answers you are looking for. 4. The wonderful relationship that develops between list members is also one of a Mailing Lists Problems. I encourage you to respond to the entire list with genealogical responses, you never know who your response will help. In the same thought I would like to ask you to not respond to the entire list with personal responses. Such as, the first message from a member says "Happy Birthday Mary" and then Mary says "Thank you” and then about 60 of our members also send "Happy Birthday Mary". This is what I mean by personal messages. Just keep in mind anything is ok to be posted as long as it has to do with the subject of the list. If you have a doubt ask me. KathleenBurnett@earthlink.net 5. Remember to keep your Virus protection up to date and never open any attached file unless you are 100% sure what it is and even then you are taking a chance. If you do notice that one of our members has a virus, please do not post their name and e-mail address across the list. Let me know and I will take care of the problem. Most likely the member already knows and is in a major state of stress. Receiving messages of each of us will only cause his or her stress level to rise. If you are interested in knowing about other mailing list out there, one of the very best inventories of genealogical mailing lists is John Fuller’s Genealogy Resources on the Internet located at http://www.rootsweb.com/~jfuller/gen_mail.html If you ever need to unsubscribe from this list or any Rootsweb list all you need to do is visit Password Central located at http://passwordcentral.rootsweb.com/ Follow the instructions and you will receive an e-mail of all lists you belong to and from it you can unsubscribe from the ones you want to. Always know that I will be more than happy to help you if you are having problems unsubscribing, you only need to ask. If you would like to visit the Archived messages of this list, go to http://archiver.rootsweb.com/ and type in the name of the list you would like to search. Please remember, so that this list is better for each of us, the posting of virus warnings, test messages, chain letters, political announcements, current events, items for sale, personal messages, flames, etc., in other words Spam is NOT ALLOWED and will be grounds for removal. Consideration for exceptions, contact me at KathleenBurnett@earthlink.net I want to thank each of you for your continued support of me and your willingness to help make this list the success it is. 2. Randal L. Carr
    3. I'm seeking information about the family of Robert Carr, died 1793 in Sussex Co., DE. His executor was Henry Carr and Robert's wife was Ann. Henry and his brothers (John, Nathan, Ezekiel) later moved to Kentucky around 1806. 11/28/1793 Robert Carr, Orpahn's Court Docket Index, RG4840, Reel 765, Book F(9), p4, 23, 24. Henry Carr requests that 3 freeholders be appointed to evaluate the land of Robert Carr since five persons had shown that it could not be divided without spoiling the whole. 4/3/1794 Henry Carr, exec., John Collins, Jacob Coverdale, and Peter Jackson reported it was worth 18 shillings per acre. 1. [DEKENT] Rawley (Rawleigh/Raleigh) family
    2. Mark L. Raulin
    3. Dear List Members: I am researching the Rawley family line. I have a James Rawley born in Somerset county, Maryland in 1659. He married Jane Wilson (Willson) who was born in Kent county, England in 1663. They had the following children: Robert, Thomas, William, James, Morris, Margaret, George, and Samuel. James later married Frances. I believe that these Rawley's are related to the Rawley line in Delaware. I believe James' son (James) who married Alice Wheeler might be where the Delaware line originates. Both lines are shown below. If someone else is researching this family line or has information, please contact me.
