    3. Marilyn... On page 1171 of "History of Delaware" is just a few last lines of the Murderkill Hundred section. then begins the Mispillion Hundred section. I haven't been looking at that, but just happened to glance over it & guess what I found... "The next grant was that of "Fairfield," a tract of one thousand acres of land lying on the south side of Brown's Branch, at the head-waters thereof. It was taken up by Wm. Durvall and Wm. Clark, on the head-waters thereof. It was taken up by Wm. Durvall and Wm. Clark, on the 1st of Nov., 1684. A large portion of this tract in later years came into the possession of Chancellor Samuel M. Harrington and at his death was sold. the owners of the old tract are now Thomas H. Dorman, David Harrington, Dr. F.J. Owens, Samuel Swain, Alexander Harper, William C. Quillen, William H. Dickinson, Giles foot, WILLIAM MORRIS and John Richards. The "now'" would be about 1888 when the book was written. 3. In the book, is there perchance any mention of a William Morris of Murderkill Hundred and the location of his land in that area. . He is my ggggrandfather. He owned a farm; he did free his slaves when his will was probated in 1797. Thank you. 1. Re: [DEKENT] PROBATES & WILLS
    2. Richard T. Knight
    3. David Sapp, Go to http://www2.state.de.us/dpa/probate and type in the surname of the person you are looking for and the county. All probates for that name and the year filed will show. I have printed all my Knight line from Delaware and have received many wills by writing to Delaware Public Archives, 121 Duke of York Street, Dover, DE 19901. The price was $.50 a page plus $3.00 handling charge the last time I used the service. The $3.00 charge was on five probates, equaling 25 pages dating back to the year 1736 so to me it was truly worth the charge. You can also a-mail them at archives@state.de.us requesting the probates. They will then a-mail you back letting you know they have found them and the amount of the charge. You can then send them a check and they mail you the copies of the probates. Hopefully this will help you. Let us know on the list or e-mail me personally.
