    3. Well, you haven't heard from me in a while and you'll be gettin slim pickins until the first of November when the first part of my "other" work will have ended.... But... today in the mail... it was Christmas.... genealogical gifts from David Perrin......and I want to share..... So, I'll type in a little info and you can create a folder for Antoine Valentine and Marie Therese.... As I send entries, you can separate out these various entries into different folders. Eventually when we get a web site, we'll transfer everything there. As I send this material, if you have discrepancies please let me know and give me what you have and I'll note your comments. PS... anyone know what the correct term for the accent over a y.... which is 2 dots.... I thought that was an umlaut.... but over a Y? That might be Swiss.... anyway for now, it will just be "two dots" Renee ---------------------- The following was compiled by Thelma Coignard and comes from David Perrin. St. Martin of Tours church (Hyacinte and Marie Therese double wedding with 2 Boutte men) [my notes say: St. Martin de Tours Church, at the Attakapas Post] ----------------------- Following is Renee's note [not on Coignard sheet] along with marginal notes from David Perrin On a photocopy of an entry from the Book: The Village of Chartres in Colonial, Ill 1720-1765, David Perrin has noted that the title that appears is correct. This reads [not in its entirety]: "K-177a [H717] Was present Mr. Antoine Valentin Degruyverloin, Lord Dumenil Fouchard, Ecuyer de la Folie, officier of a company of infantry of the detachment of the Marine garrisoned in Illinois, residing in this town of Kaskaskia, parish of the Immaculate Conception....." David notes that "He signed his name: De Gruysverloin [with the two dots over the 'y']" David notes that he got this photocopy from the HNOC on Royal Street in New Orleans. David notes that: "He [Antoine] was a duc in France." Another note says that: "Duc de la Folie is a high title in France. His father was also a duc + as his mother was a Marquis"
