    1. La Folie
    2. As noted several times, Antoine Verloin DeGruy's name appears as Lord Dumenil-Fouchard, Ecuyer de la Folie. Following Ann Voorhies interesting posting on the location of Magny-Fouchard etc., I looked for La Folie in France and found several, the closest to the Magny-Fouchard area apparently being in Cote d'Or area, about (very rough estimate) 50 miles WSW of Langres and about 50+ miles SSE of Troyes. ---- not very close, but perhaps in the ballpark? Anyway, I looked up the meaning of folie in English (not implying that the meaning is important in this connection), and found several definitions including "folly" and "whim." I found this very amusing since I've recently read several novels about the (fictitious) English nobleman detective Lord Peter Wimsey [variation of Whimsey], by Dorothy L. Sayers. Lord Peter Wimsey was the second son of the Duke of Denver. Peter's brother became the Duke of Denver, who had one son called "Viscount St. George." Maybe we can call Antoine Verloin "Lord Wimsey" in addition to being Lord DuMesnil-Fouchard. (Joking of course! )
