I have two brothers in the new Orleans area who may be able to help. Send me David's phone number. Charles M. de Gruy From: listadministratordegruyl Sent: Fri 12/12/2008 4:45 PM To: GEN Degruy Mailing list at Rootsweb; Bob Patout Subject: [DEGRUY] message from David David says that he has a [not too large] carved wooden mantel from a Degruy house in the French Quarter on Dumaine. He has been storing it at a church since Katrina, but they have told him that he has to take it away before Dec 22 or 23 or they will throw it out. He doesn't have a place to put it. He'd like a Degruy to get it. I know he'd like some sort of monetary compensation for it, but, if he can't get that, he will give it to a Degruy rather than have it put into the trash. So... if any one out there would like a piece of Degruy history, give David a call. If you don't have his number contact me off list and I'll give it to you. I'd get it myself, but getting it to St. Louis would be a bit cost prohibitive! Please share this message with anyone who may not be on our Degruy list. I know there are researchers out there who do not have computers. That's the message. Renée The productivity of our Degruy list depends upon generosity in sharing family research.
