Mornin' Gene, It would really help us to set the information from this email into our respective gedcoms, if you could provide us with an Ancestry Lineage List: That is, list your ancestors going back to Antoine.... and his equivalent on the Ray side [IOW, as far back as you can go in America]. This could be just a "skeleton" :-> outline... so we can know how and where to put these folks. Because it's on the "public" [as opposed to "private"] internet, it is safest not to begin with anyone living.... so, using myself as an example, an ancestry lineage would go something like: Louise Josephine DeGruy > Albert Joseph Verloin DeGruy > Pierre Huxelle DeGruy > Pierre Domeni Verloin DeGruy > Joseph Verloin DeGruy> Antoine Jean-Baptiste Valentin DeGruy...... for one side .... and for the other side..... Frank Frederick Hotard > Antoine Noe Hotard> Simon Hotard >Pedro Simon Hotard> Mathieu Hotard [Autard, Otard] Your doing something to this would help us understand how your Rays fit in. Thanks, Renee PS A NOTE TO ALL MEMBERS OF THE DEGRUY LIST For everyone else on the list.... It would help if each of you could do something similar to the listing above which is: quick, short, easy to understand.. Why don't you just "check in" by listing your [direct] ancestry, beginning with your great grandparents, and do a similar ancestry listing? We have several new folks on the list and this would be a good "baptism for you. > ---------------------------------------------------------------------- > > Message: 1 Date: Sat, 25 Oct 2008 > From: "Eugene Ray" > Subject: [DEGRUY] BARON, admiral deBRESSE found in family tree 18c ******************* > a) JOHN RAY born in st. francis county missouri., 10/14/ 1816 married CATHERINE de BRES(SE) born 6/15/1822 > **************** > +from this union emerged 13 children including EUGENE RAY, b. 4/27/1868 >my grandfather who +MARRIED LUCIE VERLOIN deGRUY+ st. patricks church, n.o., 9/20/1893 > > >
