    3. Dear Members of the [email protected] Mailing List, A little bit of "housekeeping" from your list administrator..... Please keep an eye on the length of the messages you send to the list. When they are too large, they get "hung up" on the Rootsweb server. They bounce with the message "too big to send." This especially applies to everyone who receives their messages in a "digest" format. The digest format is designed for folks who don't want to receive a zillion messages all throughout the day, just one [or at the most two] message/s with several individual messages contained within. The digest format is the most efficient use of email space. The problem with the digests come if you "Reply" without cutting out/deleting all the messages except your response and the message you are responding to. This makes your message huge [even if your particular message may have been only 3-4 words long!] This is because some of the other messages in your digest have been too long. When you duplicate the entire digest, it makes your "replied" message enormous, and it gets "hung up." This "housekeeping" job means a little more work for you, but it makes a big difference in the way/speed/efficiency messages are received on the list. The use of space is an ongoing concern for list and website administrators. In some cases [website], it is actually "costly," in that if we use up all the space allotted us, we have to pay more $$$ to get more space. So, please, when you respond, make sure you are including only your message and the one you are responding to. And, generally, keep an eye out for the length of messages. Thanks for your help, Renee
