GARIC, 91 EXPIRES AT HOME Was Member of OLD French Family of New Orleans, Active in City Mrs. Arthur Garic, member of an old French family, died Monday afternoon at her home, 2112 Dublin street, after an extended illness. She was 91 years old. A native of New Orleans, Mrs. Garic, the former Miss Henrietta De Gruy, daughter of Etienne Bernard De Gruy, who was a prominent cotten broker, was the 12th of a family of 12 and became the mother of 12 children. She was married to the late Arthur Garic on November 15, 1871. She was educated at the Desreyaux academy, which was on North Rampart street on the site of the present New Orleans Athletic Club, and in her youth was an accomplished musician. Although active in social and charitable work several years ago, Mrs. Garic had lived in retirement in recent years. Her time was occupied with fancy needlework. Surviving are four sons, Arthur J. Garic, William M. Garic, Charles A. Garic and Walker J. Garic, and four daughters, Mrs. C. C. Blancq, Miss Corinne Garic, Mrs. Henrietta Carstarphen and Mrs. Harry P. Morgan. Funeral services will be held today at 10 a. m. at the Mater Dolorosa Church, and interment will be in Metairie cemetery.
