DE GRUY - Mrs. Sarah De Gruy, on Thursday, February 4, 1971 at 6:05 o'clock p.m., beloved wife of Herbert De Gruy, Sr.; mother of Mrs. Marian Jean Cooper, Mrs. Mary Louise Jordan, Shirley Ann, Melvin and Herbert De Gruy, Jr.; daughter of Mrs. Mary Johnson Ward, the late Horace Hayes; step-daughter of the late Spencer Ward; sister of Mrs. Louise Martin, Mrs. Beatrice Ward, Mrs. Alberta Brooks, Mrs. Mable Ward, Mrs. Alma Washington, Mrs. Lee Ethel Moore, Sanders and Eldridge Ward; mother-in-law of Ardist Cooper; sister-in-law of Mrs.Gloria Ward, Mrs. Mathilda Ward, George Martin, Clarence Brooks and Fred Moore; also survived by 15 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Evening Star and Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Churches and all neighboring churches and Cyrus Chapter No. 4 O.E.S., Surpreme Council S.O.V.G.R. I.N.S. GEN'L 33 and L.D.A.A.S.R.F.M., are invited to attend the wake and funeral. Servies from the Evening Star Baptist Church, 817 Grefer St., Harvey, La., on Monday, Februray 8, 1971, at 8:00 o'clock p.m. Rev. John Francis officiating. Remains will be forwarded by Delta Airline on Tuesday at 7:05 a.m. Interment on Wednesday in Cypress Cemetery, San Francisco, Calif., Bayview Mortuary receiving funeral home.
