Just got home and had a telephone message from David Perrin. Remember that a while back, at David's request, I sent an email saying that a mantel which was located in a Degruy home in the French Quarter was going to be sold because David had no place to keep it? At first no one responded and then someone [not a Degruy] bought the mantel. Then Dr. Judice contacted us and said he'd like to use the mantel. So David contacted the man he had sold it to and the man agreed to sell it back so the mantel could be kept "in the family." However, when Dr. Judice contacted the man, it turned out the mantel was too small. So..... the mantel is available once again, if there is someone "out there" who wants a bit of Degruy history for his or her home.
