I'm working with a cd this am, "Genealogy of the French in North America." The information on the Couturiers says: Couturier, Pierre [Bernard & Marie David] surgeon [chirurgien] married 1744 [Louisiana], USA, marriage contract 1744-12-19 [depositary ... Garic] LeKintrex dit Dupont, Marie Francoise [Jean Joseph LeKintrek dit Dupont & Anne Marie Doss [la-ct-1] ou Pof [la-ct-2] ou Fosse [1744] Couple: Ref. [couple]: La-CT [1] 133 1] Pierre, married Kamouraska [Qc] 1784-10-19 Marie Anne Raymond Bibliography: Louisiana Marriage Contracts; Programme de recherches en demographie historique de l'Universite de Montreal [PRDH-RAB] Marriages of ancestors of that couple: Over 2 generations 1700-1799 = 3 ---------------------- Ok... some questions regarding all this 1] The only children I have for Pierre and Marie Francoise LeKintrek were Marianne and Francoise. Did you all have a Pierre married to Marie Anne Raymond????? 2] In that citation above, is Kamouraska in Canada; is that Qc short for Quebec... 3] Is there anything about this citation that we should pay special attention to? Is there a chance that Pierre could be a mistake? I wonder if that Pierre [m Marie Anne Raymond] could be found in Louisiana records or if he, perhaps, stayed in Canada and that is why we don't know anything about him. That's it. I look forward to your thoughts on this. Renee

Back in September I wrote this email [shortened here]: --------------------- Good Morning, I'm inviting each of you to participate in an "experiment" to see if it proves to be a profitable exercise. I am submitting below the form which will be used. I will also post this under "History" on the website. You might prefer to print it out from there, since it is more likely to look better. The experiment: Use this form to enter information on your Great Great Grandfather [or Mother].... whoever is your Degruy ancestor.... I would prefer that you email it to me or Celine as an attachment, or within the context of an email, and let us do the posting to the web site so that we can keep an eye on space used.... Note that we are starting with more recent generations. If this is successful, we can move a generation back in time. [This is the way DAR applicants are instructed to proceed; of course, they start with the Mother and Father, not the Great Great Grandparents. Because DAR submissions are made in a 'private' format, private information is protected, especially with regards to living, or recently living, persons.] Hope we can find some willing participants. ------------------ Now, it's November and I'm making a second appeal. Please consider filling this out and sending it to us to post. I'm including the categories in this email.... or you can print it out from the website. We need your help is tracing back the various lines of Antoine & Marie Therese's children. By the way, I am posting Louise Degruy's Ancestor Chart today.
