    3. Thanks to someone on this list some months ago I was successful in saving a TOPO (I have the N. C. set on CD ROM from National Geographic, 2001) as a JPG graphic in my deed file. I then imported (or whatever) the graphic using the following Deedmapper settings under Images: 2012 ft/inch, 112 dots per inch. For my use the center lat. is 35.37 and the center long. is 81.52. It does help me at times, but because of the "clutter" I turn the feature off except for the times I really need it. (Simply click it off under Images). I also use the roads and streams maps from DeedMapper...keeping them active all the time. As I recall, the TOPO graphic came in first as a small blurp to the top left of my screen and, perhaps, even out of sight. I found it quite by accident, then by trial and error was able to position it correctly behind the plots. If there is an archive of this User List's mailings, there is some info there regarding this. I believe that it was Steve who gave the clues which worked for me. Good luck...it's worth the battle (to me) for those times when I really need to see the TOPO background. (My first approach to this need was with an acetate overlay as one writer has described. This, too, works well.)
