DeedMapper needs to the know the dots per inch of the image in order to scale it for you. Since you say you don't know what the number is you'll need to experiment to find it. If the image came off the internet you might try starting with 75 or 96 dpi. If it originally came off a scanner you can try 300 or 600 dpi. Plug in a number and then see whether the image is too large or too small. Change the dpi setting and look again. Repeat until the image is the right size. "Right size" is determined by looking at two features on the map that are a known distance apart, and comparing them to DeedMapper's scale. For instance, suppose you know two points on the image are 3000 feet apart. Use PgUp and PgDn keys to set DeedMapper to 1000 ft per inch. The two points should appear to be 3 inches apart on the screen. For highest accuracy you can print it out and measure it. Steve, Is it possible for you to tell me how to un-subscribe from this list. I do not own the software and signed up (somewhere) when I was looking around.
