I have tried for 3 days to reach them by phone and by e-mail, but cannot get an answer on the phone or an answer to my e-mails. This makes me REALLY wonder about the company. Can anyone give me any input? I was going to be the "guinea pig" for about 30 other people who were also interested in it depending on whether I like it and find it easy to use but who are also questioning now if they want it since we can't get our questions answered. Thanks for any input! Dee" To Dee and other interested readers: Having recently returned from a trip, this information/food for thought response to the above inquiry doubtless arrives too late to be of any assistance in helping to determine whether to purchase DeedMapper. Even so, I believe my remarks might some day prove useful to someone. With that in mind, I would like to point out to anyone planning to purchase and use DeedMapper that not all folks who purchase the product are able to use it. While I am quite computer literate in Windows environments as well as DOS, I am unable to use DeedMapper. Steve has many times walked me through inputting of data; corrected and edited my fledgling efforts to map out a Duplin Co., NC community; made himself available to me via both e-mail and telephone, and helped in countless other ways. The tutorial and sample were thoroughly studied and completed, at last count, nine times. To date I have been unable to map out my community. Another deeds mapping program has been purchased. I have mapped out about twelve communities, verifying results at the local courthouse land office; however, these are not metes and bounds deed calls, but a modern surveyor's tool. I have no idea why I am unable to use DeedMapper. Certainly, I have tried and do wish I could use the program. It is a loss to me to be unable to have permanent record of the location and size/shape of the ancestors' lands in map form. In response to Dee's request for information, it seemed only fair to write to express my experiences with DeedMapper, albeit a late reply. Fran Powell powell@closecall.com
