Land Grants, per Dr. Robert McNeely: If you are using DeedMapper, this can be cut-and-pasted in. Compare with the above. The present-day location of Abraham Denton's land is about a mile and-a-half south of the Catawba River dam at the State Park. The exact spot would be off Highway 70, turning right on Rutherford Drive. Near the end of the road, on the right, is the plat. I am always looking for DeedMapper plots in present Burke, Catawba, Lincoln, Gaston, Cleveland and Rutherford prior to 1860. This helps us all discover ancestral lands. --Derick S.
