I am working with plat maps for Greenville Co., SC. The plat maps shows the lengths of the sides of a piece of property and the direction of the side, but the plat does not show which way is north. The top of the map is not north. When I am entering the description of the property should I go clockwise or counter clockwise. Please check out the following two samples: 1. ! ! Abstracting info. ! Metes and bounds. "Beginning at..." Pt Ln W; 90C; Pt Ln N30E; 90C; Pt Ln S30E; 90C; End 2. ! ! Abstracting info. ! Metes and bounds. "Beginning at..." Pt Ln W; 90C; Pt Ln S30E; 90C; Pt Ln N30E; 90C; end Each sample will produce a triangle with three equal sides, but one will point up and the other will point down. The only difference is whether I recorded the data clockwise or counter clockwise. In some cases I can tell which is correct based on the flow of streams shown on the maps, but in many cases I can not. When trying to matches property together it makes a big difference. Thanks for any help and/or suggestions.
