What you might try is scaling the lines off a paper map. Buy an Engineers scale or an Architects scale. Engineers scales are in 10ths. This is what I use because the plats I've seen in GA are scaled at 20 chains/inch so I can take a straight line measurement directly off the plat (has to be original size, of course, no enlargement or reduction) and then transfer that to a paper map. It isn't perfect but will get you in the neighborhood. Architect's scales are in 12ths and might be better if you scale is in feet. Barry Clark Fredericksburg, VA
