An old question was "What was the butterwood tree mentioned in Virginia patents?" I came across the following in "The Prose Works of William Byrd of Westover" by Wright on page 254, in the "History of the Dividing Line between North Carolina and Virginia" and written around 1730-1740: "we ascended gently to higher land, with no other trees growing upon it except butterwood, which is one species of white maple"

OK, just installed the program and went through the tutorial. First impression is that it's quite a crude program for the money. But be that it may, when I enter an annotation, jump to it and then try to move the word, I get a trail of color left behind. Is that some kind of purpose to this? I'm also a bit befuddled in that every deed is a one of a kind thing in the samples. My whole point was to trace deeds and property modifications through time on the same basic property. I see nothing even similar to it. I also expected some capability to draw things like streets. Since I can't find any way to modify an map except via annotations, I figured I would do that myself with a graphics program but how in the world do I get the printout to go other then the printer? Nothing seems to happen when I print to an adobe print file. Normally one is prompted for a file name. Can it be that there is no file output via the printer in this $100 program?
