Hope this will help at least some of your issues. Roads / streets can be entered like land plots (assuming you know direction and distance) .... just leave off the last "Ln ; ; " so the program does not attempt to complete the plot. In the Text View, the input is not in fields, it's plain ASCII and so navigation is via arrow keys (or as you said, the mouse). All text processors have always done it the same (e.g., EDIT, Notepad, EditPad, ....). If you have a favorite program, type it there, CUT / PASTE to DM's Text View. Dates can be entered as 21-Oct-1799 or Oct 21, 1799 or 11/21/1799 or 11.21.1799 or Twenty-one October Seventeen Ninety-Nine ... it's ACSII and DM does not care as long as that line is preceeded by "DAT". The scale is a viewing / printing scale not a plot scale. The HOME key displays the max (31.7 feet / inch). The END key displays the minimum, 12.1 miles / inch. Good luck. That sounds good. How do I set that? I can get to 50'/inch using PgDn zoom but how do I set such a scale? The program says "too small" at anything under 125'/inch in the initial start up setting. OK, the pdf output now works. I guess I had to do a printer setup first.
