Has anyone created a deed or overlay for the Township-Range-Sections for Calloway County, KY or the Range-Sections for Henry County, TN? I just did one for drills for T1N R3E in Calloway County as a single dummy deed. It looks ok. I guess I could add a dummy date and filter it out or in maybe? The neat thing about it is the roads seem to run along the quarter section lines as you might expect (with a small margin for error). Bob Wilson Wimberley, TX
Hi, I would be really interested in these two counties as my mother's family came from there. Haven't done much work on this side of the family as I'm busy finishing (well someday) my Dad's side and have been working on plats in Warren Co, GA. My names include: Guinn, Bucy, Hill, Pettipool/P.Pool, Bailey Pauline Ballentine Oceanside, CA P.S. We all ended up in Texas ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bob Wilson" <rfwilson@wimberley-tx.com> To: <DEED-MAPPER-USERS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, October 14, 2002 2:07 PM Subject: [DMU] Township-Range-Section Grid > Has anyone created a deed or overlay for the Township-Range-Sections for > Calloway County, KY or the Range-Sections for Henry County, TN? Hello list, Update - my .jpg file was to big for Deed mapper to load so I reduced it to half of it's original size before deedmapper would load it. New Question - Does anyone use the filter ? How do I hide all the plats except one ? Bill
Try saving to .bmp - for some strange reason I have never been able to load a .jpg into my program. Thanks Jolee, Tried .bmp but still will not work, but with the .bmp file a warning now comes up about a sharing violation ?? I have not had any problems with jpg or any others even tiff's come up albeit slowly. Thanks, Steve. I don't recall cutting, pasting or copying but I did drag them halfway across the county. I will try using WordPad in the meantime. Look forward to the latest build. There was a flaw in the program some time back whereby you could get multiple copies of the same annotation. Deleting one would reveal the one "underneath". It is easiest to fix this in a text editor such as WordPad. Open your deed file in WordPad and search for "txt" and you'll see the annotation lines. Remove the duplicate lines and save the file. If I recall correctly, the problem relating to cutting and pasting or copying parcels. We'll send you a copy of the latest build, which fixes the problem. Additional information on the situation...I added background maps and annotations to the maps prior to noticing this problem. The deeds and their annotations were done prior to adding the maps and the map annotations. I don't know that makes any difference but it is another data point. I have reinstalled the V3 Build 20 program but there is no change in the situation. The problem has to be with the data files I guess. Bob Wilson Wimberley, TX

I am currently having problems deleting annotations to plots. I select the annotation. It changes color showing it is selected. I can either right click and select Delete or use the Delete under the Edit menu which brings up the confirmation window. I select yes. The screen redraws but the annotation is still there. Has my data file been corrupted or do I need to re-install the program? Any suggestions? Bob Wilson Wimberley, TX
These are text files. The can be created, revised or appended with a text/word processor in the text mode. --Derick At 10:34 PM 10/2/02, Bill wrote: >Hi, >Here is a compass I platted. > >Do a append deed (F10 key) and cut and paste this into the deed. >Not the best but it works ! >Bill > > >Pt >Ln n10e; 300p; >Pt >Ln n; 20p; >Pt N >Ln s; 735p; >Pt S >Ln n; 735p; >Pt >Ln s; 20p; >Pt >Ln s10e; 300p; >Pt >Ln s45w; 150p; >Pt >Ln n45e; 150p; >Pt >Ln s80e; 300p; >Pt >Ln e; 20p; >Pt E >Ln w; 735p; >Pt W >Ln e; 735p; >Pt >Ln w; 20p; >Pt >Ln s80w; 300p; >Pt >Ln s10w; 300p; >Pt >Ln n10w; 300p; >Pt >Ln n80w; 300p; >Pt >Ln n80e; 300p; >Pt >Ln s45e; 150p; >end > > > >============================== >To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, >go to: >http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237

Bill, if the above originally was sent with an attachment, then it did not make it. The policy of RootsWeb is to not accept attachments and if any are attached to list messages they are just dropped. If you can post it to a web site somewhere for downloading, you can post the URL of that site and members here can go to there and obtain it.
