I have been following this list for some time and finally broke down and purchased the software. I have entered about 24 deeds, several bought & sold several times. So far I am impressed with the program and having lots of fun. My area of interest is the Catawissa area of Columbia County PA. Anyone out there in the same area? Hi Steve/List Thanks Steve ! I solved the problem - I use the 5000 ft/inch and 150 with many images and it has always worked fine. What was causing the problem was that my files were in the root directory, as soon as I moved the .jpg, .dat, .mbl, .mbk files into their own folder everything worked just fine. (This funny limit has been in the program since day one, for reasons that are lost in the mists of time.) What the program is really trying to determine is the number of feet per scanning dot so it can properly scale the image. It does this by dividing the ft per inch by the dpi. In your case 5000/150 = 33.33 ft per dot. So, here's a trick to get around the 2400 limit. Divide 5000 and 150 by the same number, for example, 5. 1000 ft per inch 30 dpi These two have the same ft per dot value as 5000 and 150. I use the "Print Screen" key to copy what is on the screen and paste it. - JoLee Spears At 09:55 PM 1/4/2003, you wrote: >The plot may be showing somewhere but it's just not in the area you are >viewing. The plot may be showing somewhere but it's just not in the area you are viewing. Select the plot in the Table View, go back into the Plot View, click on the Jump button and you will get to it and be able to see it. If you want it to land in a certain spot, rather than click the Jump button, hold down your left mouse button at the spot you want the tract to be at, and it should appear there. >-----Original Message----- >From: John W Lawrence [mailto:johnlawrence@cox-internet.com] >Sent: Saturday, January 04, 2003 8:39 PM >To: DEED-MAPPER-USERS-L@rootsweb.com >Subject: [DMU] Printing from Deed Mapper by Copy and Paste > > >When I try to copy and paste the plots do not copy only the plot >description. > >How can one copy part of the plot screen and paste it into a word >processor. > >Thanks >John Lawrence > > >============================== >To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy >records, go to: >http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237 > > >
When I try to copy and paste the plots do not copy only the plot description. How can one copy part of the plot screen and paste it into a word processor. Thanks John Lawrence
I just want to verify that there is no way to lock plots together but still be able to move the group of locked plots around on the map background. They are locked to a particular location on the map. I know I can select a group of plots, plot by plot, and move that group together. Or through the use of the Filter. Marie.
Steve, You're a great guy. Always there to support the program. Have a great New Year! Diane

I agree with the comments to add scroll bars (or other navigation tools such as a click-and-drag) to allow minute adjustments of the view. The ability to fine tune the zoom level would also be very useful as well. Yes, it is a great program also. John
I've finally gotten used to the directional buttons and most of the time choose the right button for the direction I want to move. Possibly, as someone said, scroll bars would make it easier to move a map minutely one direction or another for getting a perfect view for saving as a graphic, or printing. The directional buttons make it harder to be exact. I have to say again that I love this program! Marie. > >Someone has suggested we add scrollbars to the Plot View.
