Hello fellow Decker researchers, I have a copy of the will of Maria H. Cobb Decker, second wife of Peter M. Decker. (Peter's first wife was Maria Blauvelt born 1809 died 1846). Maria Cobb Decker listed her step-children (children of Maria Blauvelt)..they were (in order of birth): Hannah Eliza (b. 1830), Rosanna (b. 1832?), Sarah Ann (b. 1834?), Phebe Jane (b. 1836), Isaac Newton (b. 1838), John P. (b. 1840), and Chileon B. Decker (b. 1843). Rosanna and Sarah are new names. Does anyone have any information on Rosanna and Sarah? Maria H. Cobb Decker also names her own daughter, Harriet Elizabeth Decker (b. 1856) who was not yet 18 years old in 1867. Her will was written June 7, 1867 and was proved June 10, 1872 number 4922 N. Maria H. Cobb Decker was born 23 May 1820 and died 10 May 1872. In the name of God, Amen, I Maria H. Decker of Jefferson Township, Morris County, State of New Jersey, being of sound mind, memory, and understanding do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner following, that is to say: FIRST - It is my will, and I do order that all my just debts and funeral expenses be duly paid and satisfied as soon as conveniently can be, after my decease. SECOND- Should my husband Peter Decker survive me then I give, devise and bequeath, unto my beloved husband Peter Decker ALL of my Real Estate and personal property to his sole use forever. THIRD: Should I survive my husband Peter Decker then I give and bequeath unto my daughter Harriet Elizabeth Decker, the sole use and enjoyment of all my Estate, both real and personal to receive the cents issues and profits thereof to her sole use. Until she the said Harriet Elizabeth shall arrive at the age of Eighteen years. At that time, the day the said Harriet Elizabeth shall have become Eighteen years of age then the said property and Estate so bequeathed to the use of said Harriet Elizabeth shall become the joint property and Estate of my said daughter Harriet Elizabeth and my step- children, the children of my husband Peter Decker, to wit: Hannah Eliza, Rosanna, Sarah Ann, Phebe Jane, Isaac Newton, John P., and Chileon B. Decker. The said property and Estate to be equally divided between them share and share alike. FOURTH: Should my said daughter Harriet Elizabeth die before she arrives at the age of Eighteen years having no lawful issue, then her share of said Estate shall descend to and be inherited by my said step-children as aforesaid and be divided equally between there or theirheiren. And should any of my step-children as aforesaid die before the time or the arrival of said daughter Harriet Elizabeth at the age of Eighteen years that then the said share of said child or children shall advert to and be inherited by the heirs of said child or children so deceased. LASTLY: I hereby appoint my beloved husband Peter Decker Sole Executor of this my last will and testament. Should he not be living at my decease then I do hereby appoint my step-son Chileon B.
