    1. Re: [DECKER-L] Decker line in the South
    2. Joyce, If your Allen IS in fact the s/o John and Ann Loddick Decker, then we're cousins! Are you familair with a book called the DECKER family of Grayson Co., KY? In this book, it says that John and Ann have 8 children. It says John and Ann were married in about 1775. It lists their first child as born in 1778, the 2nd b. 1786 and the 3rd b. in Wilkes, GA in 1800. They list Allen next b. in GA with no year of birth. The next 4 children also have no birth year listed. Several years ago when I went to Grayson Co., KY to do research, I phoned the auther of the book and went over several questions I had with him and he admitted there were several errors in the book. If Allen was the 8th born rather than #4, then MAYBE he would have been born in 1812, but that would make the first child 34 years old. That's quite an age span, assuming all these other dates are correct. Wish I could be of more help to you. Good luck!
