My GGG Grandfather BENJAMIN SHERWOOD was born 12 OCT. 1789 in ULSTER COUNTY N.Y.. He married ELIZABETH BROCKWAY 23JAN. 1817 in NEWBURGH,N.Y.. They purchased a farm in GARDNERTOWN, in the town of NEWBURGH,N.Y. near ORANGE LAKE N.Y.(Which is now Rt.32, North Plank Rd.). Ihave one document which says his father and mother were SOLOMAN SHERWOOD and HANNAH VAN TASSEL and another that says his father was JOSEPTH SHERWOOD of MARLBOROUGH,N.Y., ULSTER COUNTY N.Y..
