My great grandfather was "Elzie" or "Elza" His headstone says Elzie, His death certificate says Elza, and the obituaries of two of his children list him as Elza. If the person you are looking for is female, it could be short for Elizabeth, or Eliza, you did not list a sex, but I assumed the person you are looking for is male.
