Hi, My greatgrandmother Louah Alice Decker has an unusual name that I'm hoping one of you might recognize the name Louah in earlier Decker families of the Hudson Valley that might give me clues to my Decker ancestry. For most of her life she was known as Louie. She lived with her father George Decker and her mother Phebe Vandervoort in Gilboa, Schoharie County. Her father was born in Conesville (or Dyse's Manor) in Schoharie County. His father was Tunis Decker born about 1766 and died in 1854. I've seen much of the early families in the Hudson Valley but have been unable to find anything to tie this Tunis to those families. Given the proximity of Gilboa and Conesville to the Hudson Valley, I'd be very surprised if this Tunis wasn't a descendant of one of the Decker lines in the Husdon Valley. Does any of this match with information any of you have?
