Maggie, In census records they aren't an exact science. It is how old they were on the day they were taken. So you guestimate, but the next census records could be off another year...depending when the censuses were taken...some were in March and some were in April. I have even found almost 10 years difference in ages depending on who was giving the info. On the 1900 census I found the following three Glen Deckers, son of head of household: Glen Decker Perry, Noble, Indiana abt 1896 Indiana White Son Glen C Decker Easton Ward 6, Northampton, Pennsylvania abt 1888 New York White Son Glen D Decker Jefferson, Schoharie, New York And then I find the following for Earl: Earl Decker Walden, Larimer, Colorado abt 1895 Colorado White Son Earl Decker Lower Mancos, Montezuma, Colorado abt 1894 Colorado White Son Earl Decker Macomb, McDonough, Illinois abt 1887 Illinois White Son Earl Decker Hammond, Lake, Indiana abt 1885 Indiana White Son Earl Decker Penn, St Joseph, Indiana abt 1885 Michigan White Son Earl Decker Cedar, Sac, Iowa abt 1889 Iowa White Son Earl Decker Claverack, Columbia, New York abt 1892 New York White Son Earl Decker Canaan, Columbia, New York abt 1889 New York White Son Earl Decker Middletown Ward 2, Orange, New York abt 1891 New York White Son Earl Decker Warwick, Orange, New York abt 1900 New York White Son Earl Decker Pittsfield, Otsego, New York abt 1894 New York White Son Earl Decker Polk, Crawford, Ohio abt 1894 Ohio White Son Earl Decker Eagle, Hancock, Ohio abt 1886 Ohio White Son Earl Decker Clear Creek, Warren, Ohio abt 1887 Ohio White Son Earl Decker Portage, Wood, Ohio abt 1897 Ohio White Son Earl Decker Chandler, Lincoln, Oklahoma abt 1887 Kansas White Son Earl Decker McElroy, Pawnee, Oklahoma abt 1890 Kansas White Son Earl Decker North East, Erie, Pennsylvania abt 1884 New York White Son Earl Decker West Wheatfield, Indiana, Pennsylvania abt 1892 Pennsylvania White Son Earl Decker East Stroudsburg, Monroe, Pennsylvania abt 1890 Pennsylvania White Son Earl Decker Damascus, Wayne, Pennsylvania abt 1890 Pennsylvania White Son Earl C Decker Allen, Hancock, Ohio abt 1881 Ohio White Son Earl D Decker Geneva Ward 3, Ontario, New York abt 1885 Pennsylvania White Son Earl E Decker Madison, Pickaway, Ohio abt 1894 Ohio White Son Earl E Decker Loganville, York, Pennsylvania abt 1888 Pennsylvania White Son Earl F Decker Lenox, Susquehanna, Pennsylvania abt 1896 Pennsylvania White Son Earl F Decker Limestone, Warren, Pennsylvania abt 1890 New York White Son Earl J Decker Springfield, Hamilton, Ohio abt 1898 Ohio White Son Earl J Decker Salem, Tuscarawas, Ohio abt 1892 Ohio White Son Earl W Decker Precinct 11, Weld, Colorado abt 1884 Iowa White Son Earl W Decker New Baltimore, Greene, New York abt 1896 Michigan White Son Earl W Decker Monroeton, Bradford, Pennsylvania abt 1887 Pennsylvania White Son Earl W Decker Smithfield, Huntingdon, Pennsylvania abt 1883 Pennsylvania White Son Earl W Decker Norristown, Montgomery, Pennsylvania abt 1897 Pennsylvania White Son Hope this helps somewhat...you might find something familiar in one of those, Lainee At 07:25 PM 10/17/2004, you wrote: ><snip> >My brick wall is my grandfather, Glen Earl Decker.
