bet996, This is going to be a difficult one to research. The 1930 Federal Census (the last published one) only listed one Elizabeth Vill, not the wife of Charles, in Pittsburgh, PA. It is possible that the census takers mispelled or sounded out "Vill" and it came out another name, or they may have changed their name for a time? That's the bad news. The good news is there is a Charles A. Vill listed in the 1920 Census, in the town of Newark, NJ (Essex Co.). He was born abt 1895 in New Jersey (Declared to be 24 years old on the census). The other important fact on this listing is that both his parents were born in Germany. The odd part about this Census page is they list him as Married, Head of Household, but there is no wife or any children listed. Perhaps they were away visiting relatives at the time the census was taken. Who knows! Stay tuned, Dan Long (my mother was a Decker) Sunnyvale, CA USA ----- Original Message ----- From: <bet996@aol.com> To: <DECKER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, September 12, 2004 2:03 PM Subject: [DECKER] information please > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: Decker > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/hgR.2ACIB/1840 > > Message Board Post: > > I am looking for any information on Elizabeth Decker from New Jersey.
