I am looking on information concerning my gggrandmother, Laura Ellen Decker. She was born in Jan. 1864 in Missouri. She lived in Kiowa Oklahoma by May of 1884 where my great grandfather, Cleveland Albert Smallwood was born. His father has been listed as James Leroy Smallwood. I found her in the 1900 census in Indian Territory, Hartshorne, OK., but she had already remarried a man by the name of William C. Sherman. The census list her father's birthplace as Tennessee, and her mother's as Kentucky. It also list her other children, Ida Louise Smallwood, Thomas J. Smallwood, Doria L. Smallwood, and Hattie Sherman, all born in Oklahoma. I also found them in the 1910 census, but have been unable, so far, to locate her after this census, I would also like to note that the census lists her husband's,(William Sherman) birthplace as New York. I found a marriage record in Pittsburg Co., OK. for the marriage of Ida Smallwood and Dallas Priddy. And I found Hattie Sherman in 1910 census li! ving next door to her mother and father, married to Emery Evans?...the last name is hard to read. Hope some of these names sound familiar and there's someone out there with some more info. Thanks, Donna

I'm not certain if this is your family but... in 1870 Union, Pulaski, MO there is a family Carmack, Jesse 28 TN ... Martha 25 KY Decker, Calvin 11 MO .... E. Laura 7 MO .....William 2 MO .....Charles 2.16 MO in 1880 you can see her listed with Jesse Carmack and Martha as just Laura Carmack 17.
