He was born circa 1866...i believe near Oneonta. As an adult, he lived in Newburgh (Orange County), New York. While he was white, he married a Black woman named Nellie. He was shunned by his father after this. However, his mother and sister used to travel to Newburgh from upstate to visit him. Needless to say, we have very little information about this part of our family. Anyone in my family who would remember his parents' or sister's names are dead. I am hoping someone who's heard this story from their past might be able to shed some light. Thank you
