I would like to meet Casper Decker /Decher ,my great grandfather at a dinner party. He was born around 1830 in Hesse Darmstadt Germany. He settled in Hamilton,OH Butler County. He served with Ohio 9th Infantry Company B from Camp Dennison and served in the Civil War from 1861-1664. I would loved to ask him the following questions: Who were his parents? Did he have any brothers and sisters? What reasons made him come to the USA? Did he know anyone in Butler County ,OH? I would question him about the Civil War. Also ask questions about his wife Anna Maria Deinzer. What was it like to be married at about 42 and a father at 43.(a son Herman Henry born March 1874 but died as an infant. Casper died at the age of 45 March 1875 of diseases contacted during the Civil War. He never got to see the birth of his daughter Katherine Caroline (my grandmother) born Nov. 26,1875. Ann
