My name is Richard Deuel and I was wondering if you have any more information on the Henry Duel who married Elizabeth Catlin. My g-g-grandfather Henry Deuel (Duel is a common variation on Deuel) was born in New York 1811 and I have been unable to trace my line back past him. I believe the Henry Duel who married Elizabeth Catlin might be my g-g-grandfather's father. Any information on Elizabeth, her siblings and where their families located might also help. My family settled in Passaic, NJ in the 1870's. Thanks!
Hi Richard Quick check at ancestry.com netted the following. Might be yours. In the 1880 Saratoga Co NY census District 85 Lake Avenue Household 167-174 is an (1) Elizabeth Duel age 70 born England, parents born England; (2) Maria French age 39 (?) daughter born NY, Father born Ireland, Mother born England; (3) 10 other persons listed in household ...perhaps Elizabeth running a boarding house. Hope this helps.
