The only thing the list admin (me, again) cannot do is: You may not: * Change the overall focus/topic of the list. For example, you may not change a list that focuses on a given surname to exclude all except those from a specific lineage or region. You would need to request a second list with those restrictions if such was your goal. * Close your list by unsubscribing everyone, or by refusing to allow anyone to subscribe. * Archive your list anywhere other than RootsWeb without prior permission. Since what I chose was, and still is, on topic and makes for a nice change of pace from the standard roll call, the Virtual Dinner Party will continue. As previously stated, if you DON'T like the idea you do NOT have to participate. But, creating a scene on the list is NOT the way to get your point across to me, and I seriously doubt anyone else either. Most every list administrator does different things to get the list going. As long as it is genealogy related, then it is ON TOPIC for a genealogy list at RootsWeb, and this is genealogy related. FYI....The List Administrator of the listowners list has what she calls the VLF--Very Large Flyswatter--and periodically the rest of us list admins are allowed to borrow it for the purpose of swatting. The swat generally means that we are banned to the reject list for one week...or until she happens to remember we are there and takes us off! I now return you to your scheduled Dinner Party, conversation and food! Lainee Denton-Jones Decker List Administrator --=======1F1DDD3=======--
