    2. Dear Cousins: I'm in a pickle and need your help. My gggrandfather was Benjamin Franklin Decker b. 26 May 1816 somewhere in KY and d. bef 28 Dec 1866 in Harrison Co., IN. He m. Julia Ann Stevens 16 Aug 1838 in Harrison Co., IN. Julia was b. about 1819 in Harrison Co., IN and d. before 30 Dec 1865 in Harrison Co., IN. Their children were Abraham Lawrence (my ggrandfather), 1852; Mary Frances, 1838 (m. John Baxley); Perlina, 1842/43 (m. Robert Baxley); James, 1848/49; Thomas, about 1848; John, about 1850; and William 1860. There are a passel of Deckers in that county during his lifetime, but I've spent years trying to connect him with them with no luck. Any help would be most gratefully accepted. Regards, David Decker Carbondale, IL

    3. Hi, Here's a list of all the Decker Heads-of-household in the Federal Census for the entire state of KY (1920). Your Benjamin Decker would probably be in one of these households as a 3 or 4 year-old. Unfortunately, the censuses that early only list the head and not the rest of the family, but it's a good place to look for other records (city and county in some cases are given). Best digging! 3. David, The last post (for 1840) WAS your Decker! I looked at the next census (1850), which happens to be the first one where all family members living at home are enumerated, and they were all there! Here's the info: Federal Census, 1950, State of Indiana, County of Harrison, Precinct 45 Franklin Decker, Head, age 35, Farmer, value of farm=200 Julia A. Decker, Wife, age 34 Mary Decker, daughter, age 12 Perlina Decker, daughter, age 11 James Decker, son, age 5 Thomas Decker, son, age 2 John Decker, son, age 8/12ths Abraham is not listed here because he was born two years later. I can check the next one, too. Regards, Dan Long Sunnyvale, CA Club627@aol.com wrote: Dear Cousins: I'm in a pickle and need your help.
